The description of the addict-coaddict cycles really hit home, especially the part about the coaddict becoming overvigilant. That was me! I can't quite give up the idea that I might be able to control his behavior by reading his emails, questioning his every move, etc., but I feel I can get there after discussion with him about letting go. The best thing about this book is the theme of changing MY behaviors, not his. Decide what I can and cannot tolerate and stick to my guns. If he screws up, decide how I will deal with it. It was helpful too to read that it is important to make a decision (to stay or go) rather than wallowing in indecision forever. There is no right or wrong answer, but whether I stay in this relationship or not, I need to change my way of thinking in order to be stronger going forward. Obviously, I thought this book was helpful!

I am angry, I was in a first marriage where I was determined not to become a coaddict and, I did NOT! I left and got help for the reasons why I loved too much... But, in working so hard in NOT being one in my second marriage AND taking the guilt my second husband put on me, knowing abouty first marriage, I believed him when he said the problem was ME... Kind of... But not deep down, so I worked harder to FIX him and HELP him and in trying to HELP HIM, I find, that I have done just that, become co addictive!! This book has opened my eyes! I am trying so hard now to LET GO AND LET GOD! I will refer back to this book often and plan to read other suggested reading also.

This book has helped me so much. I could not believe how it was like reading my life with my husband. He is an addict and we are now getting divorced but this book helped give me so much insight. It helped me see there is life after a failed marriage with a sex addict. I never realized I was codependent to him until reading this. Also, that it is his problem and not mine. I recommend it to all spouses of sex addicts everywhere.

This is the best book I have read, so far. I have read most out there - but this is the first I read that wasn't geared towards understanding the addict. This one sure helped me understand, but it's a book for ME - a CO-Sex Addict. It's short, concise, and easy to understand. Some books get a bit technical for my liking. I don't want to know statistics - I want to heal! Good luck, and take care of you! Don't forget you are not alone. [...]

For those who have been shocked by learning of a significant other's sexually addictive behavior, this book contains some helpful information, especially in the final chapter on cybersex. Wading through it is a bit tough, though, because it very poorly written and apparently was published without any editing. Codependency is narrowly defined and explored, and thus the portions on regarding it will apply to some but not all readers. So will the author's statement that finding out about her husband's first affair was not so hard.

Did not care for it. It seed as if it were written to enable. Would not recommend. It is not a recovery book.

After reading this book I was very very disappointed. I liked it at first. Then it said I the coaddict was as bad or worse than the sex addict. I find that to be very disturbing.

I had originally read the author’s short story An Indecent Wager and was pleased to see the relationship between the two parties deepened in one of her longer works in this box set. While the writing suffers occasionally from a mistyped or wrongly chosen word in context, the depth and complexity the author brings, particularly to her male characters, is refreshing. This box set contains another pair of stories which, again, deepen the relationship between a marquess and his cousin by marriage. All the tales have a HEA, and while there are elements of dominance in the sex scenes, the more outrageous of them actually sort of take place ‘off stage’.

Georgette Brown knows how to weave a tale that engages and titillates in all the right ways. I have read some of these stories before but enjoyed revisiting them. I love this time period and the elegance of it and Ms. Brown's research and knowledge shows through within her stories. And the characters are all well developed and facinating.

I loved the sarcasm and the witty attitudes of some of the characters. I enjoyed all the stories. Some more than others. Some were too long. And some were too short. You can definitely see the evolution of the author. Thank you for the entertainment at an extremely affordable price. Next time charge more. It was worth much more.

Much to her annoyance, Darcy didn’t give in to Radcliff’s monetary offer in exchange for the deed. What Darcy did was to offer a challenge to Radcliff…“You will submit to being my suitor—an ardent suitor—for a period of six months. You will tend to my every wish and command. Only then, upon your satisfactory and unconditional submission, will I relinquish the deed to Brayten.Once he accepted it, will he have the patience to be at the beck and call of Darcy? I can honestly say this is one of my best purchases ever! I absolutely loved this series and actually having it in my hands is amazing. If you want the whole series in outstanding condition and for a great price, (you're basically only paying for almost 8 out of 18 volumes. That's means you're getting 10 for free!) you're looking in the right place. Also if you've only watched the anime you are missing out!

Okay, so I watched to anime of this series when I was in like 6th grade and I've been wanting this box set since then. So I bought this a day after I turned 14. I do not regret spending half of my birthday money on this at all! It's all fun and games like the show at first but then when you get to volume 13 it starts to get serious and it's so good. If you generally like romantic/comedy series that get serious towards the end then you'll love Ouran High School Host Club.The box set arrived at my house on time and the box that had all the books was in perfect shape(I live in the USA so that might be why)and the note pad that comes with it is adorable.Also it's 18 books for 80 dollars which means each book is around 4 dollars rather than paying 10 dollars for each book separately.10/10 would recommend

I absolutely love this series and was absolutely ecstatic when I found the entire box set! It was like a dream come true!The one thing I can say about this manga is that it's incredibly sweet. The plot that was created here is enough to make a big grin spread across your face. It's like no matter what happened to you before--whether you had a bad day or not--as soon as you open this manga, a big smile forms the moment you read. The characters themselves are so mischievous and funny that you'll find yourself reading this series over and over again because it's so uplifting! Of course--like ALL manga--it shares its moments of drama, but I believe MOST of you (keyword: MOST) will find the ending incredibly sweet! After all, there's no fun giving out spoilers! Just read and you'll know what I'm talking about! (#^.^#)Overall, a terrific collection to own! (◠‿ ◠)

The series: If you have only seen the anime series, then there is a lot more to discover in the manga world, as the anime only covers the first six or seven books. Ouran High School Host Club is one of those memorable shoujo series that you pick up year after year to read and re-read. The characters are amazingly adorable, from the Host Club members and our atypical protagonist, Haruhi, to classmates, and non-school related characters like Haruhi's eccentric papa. I devoured the first half of this series easily - it is rife with shoujo and school tropes, like love triangles, sports events, and group outings, but somehow Hatori made this series unique in just how *CRAZY* the plots can get and how lovable all of the characters are. Going back to Haruhi, I think she made this series superior to some of the other shoujo series out there because she was so different - a bit hard to read and not the traditional always-sweet or hot-headed-with-a-heart-of-gold female character, but sympathetic regardless.As for the latter half, I did not quite like it as much as the beginning, because as the characters engage in more difficult issues, you lose some of that lighthearted brevity, which is realistic, but not as fun as crazy shenanigans. Still, Hatori does a great job in developing her characters' maturity and engaging the readers fully in relevant school issues, like parent-child problems and the sadness of graduating and forever changing your relationships with your school friends. And even though Haruhi and Tamaki's romance is one of the center plots, Hatori maintains a strong connection to all of the Host Club characters and focuses on the Club as a whole.The box set: If you're looking to own the series and have five or fewer books, the box set is definitely the way to go. I received all 18 books in new condition, with three of them having those annoying small tears in the spine (that bug the heck out of me but are ultimately cosmetic) along with the cute, exclusive notepad. The set opens up at the top, secured by velcro on each side, and folds down to reveal a mini bookshelf with all 18 novels and the notepad. There is also a plastic handle at the top that you can use to carry the set. Overall, the cardboard housing seems pretty secure and can be helpful in freeing up shelf space.

Arrived in such pristine condition and while I did get a bit worried with how I was going to get out a volume without ruining the spine I somehow managed to get it out somehow and still maintain its pristine condition. Definitely a MUST READ and WATCH! I've loved Ouran since I first saw it around five years ago or so and still watch it to this day!

This box set arrived in perfect condition AND A WEEK EARLY!! I bought the 'Death Note' box Set with this one and I must say I am ecstatic with the condition and delivery rate. This is, by far my best experience with an Amazon order! I completely recomend this to any Ouran High fan out there! Definitely worth it!!

Wow, what a beautiful box set. It has a carrier handle and everything. We got this anime set for my daughter's birthday as her main gift and she was thrilled. So beautiful and vibrant. If you have a child that loves Anime then this is the series for you. It will be hard to beat the price anywhere else. The books were pristine and came quickly. Bought this book after reading positive review. Publication quality is VERY poor. The entire book is in black and white which is rarely seen in other web design books. For new to Fireworks CS3, instruction is confussing and hard to understand because there is nothing visual to tell you what is what. For not too new to Fireworks CS3, the story is boring, pretty much a laundary list. Sample webpage address shows a webpage sample that is full of broken links. Lots of the function designed do not seen to work from the sample website. I have to say that I have wasted my money for this.

This book appears to be written by people for whom English is a second language. The examples are poorly explained, leaving the reader to do even more deciphering than with most computer books. Having said that, if you persist, a lot can be learned about the potential of Fireworks. The other side of the coin was that it didn't cost too much and wasn't 800 pages long.

Waste of time and money. Hard to follow. Useless.I can't express how badly this book is written.Again I advise anyone looking to buy this book to look else where.

The Amazon Search landed me to this book & I purchased the book mainly judging from the front and back covers, other sample pages from search inside feature and Book's website intelllistudies.com, which advertised that reader will be able to learn complete webpage designing, shown from mockup to finished work, by the time reader completes book, using only Adobe Fireworks.This book exceeded my expectations as it has an amazing way of teaching. Each chapter is divided into three sections,starting with story excerpt which depicts real-time web work flow. Within reading few pages, you start to ease into the shoes of a web designer. The second section (fact files) is "how to" guide to Fireworks menus and commands & Last(most important) one is called "Steps to be Performed" where reader employs knowledge gained from fact files into formation of web page.It's the approach towards learning which made me write this review,I mean you get idea of what to make and why from storyline, how to make it from second section and employ the learning gained in third section to achieve depicted target.I felt at ease as the concept was interesting for a novice like me. This book really worked for me, as it unleashes Fireworks capability, using it's vector & raster tools for complete mockup design. The Book is great for those who are beginners and follow book rhythm to understand whole software, using one continued example which practically induces all Fireworks topics required to master the software. Though learners who want shortcut approach towards learning & require specific command/section of Fireworks to learn may be a little bit intimidated.All in all two thumb's up from my side for this book.

I am not english native speaker and even I could understood the training which I find very useful and original.It changes from another book and is quite complete.

The best part for me is Part three of the book, it presents a realistic implementation of Battleship game using client server, it covers all the interesting aspects in a very clear and incremental manner.Chapter 18 is paricularly good, it starts from a very simple active object, explains how it works, then moves on to the pattern, also explains why he favors one approach over the other, the mistake he made etc. Part Three - Communications and Systems Programming Chapter 16 - Communications and Systems Programming Chapter 17 - The Transaction-oriented Games Stack Chapter 18 - Active Objects Chapter 19 - Client-server Framework Chapter 20 - The GSDP Server Chapter 21 - GDP Implementations Chapter 22 - Full Battleships

There are only a handful of Symbian books available yet, and this one is the best of them. It is not a tutorial but a fairly good reference. It does a good job of explaining concepts as well, for instance I really like the discussion of descriptors in chapter 5.Those who have no Symbian background will find this book difficult (not because the book is badly written, but because Symbian is a very different platform). I recommend that beginners read documentation and whitepapers available at Symbian's website, take an introductory class and then buy this book for reference. Dont try to learn Symbian programming from this book. You'll be disappointed.I also think that the authors should revisit and work on a new edition of this useful book. There has been an addition of many new topics since R5, that require good reference material - authors could do the Symbian community a favor by providing that much needed reference material.This book deserves 3.5 stars now - and if the authors release a new edition, it will get 5 stars from me.

First, I should state that I know the author. I better say that in case anyone believes my guilty of bias. However, it must be realised that this book is an official Symbian publication, and as such is the definitive reference book on programming for EPOC devices. Personally I think Martin has done a remarkable job putting all this together. As an ex-Symbian employee I have not done any coding since the early development days of the Psion Series 5.Recently I have needed to get up to date and get coding again. On a brand new PC, with no EPOC utilities on it, with the help of this book and its accompanying CD (which contains ALL of the official Symbian Software Development Kits), I had genuine freshly-compiled programs running on my Psion Series 5mx PDA within MINUTES. Martins writing style is very accessible, and explains the advanced concepts behind EPOC in a manner in which anyone can quickly understand them.As an aside, the book is deliberately written so that it does NOT have to be read sitting in front of a computer. As a result, this book makes a fantastic tutorial, as it can be read on the train, in the bath, anywhere when you might have a few minutes spare.A "must buy" for any individual or company considering programming in C++ any EPOC devices (which will in the near future include both PDA's and mobile phones). Well done Martin!

My company is working on software for the handset manufactures that are using the Symbian OS. We will now most likely miss our deadlines due to a very buggy OS and the worst documentation I have ever seen in 20 years of being in the industry. This book couldn't be more scatter-brained if they tried. There are some great bits and pieces here and there, but you have to find them. The worst part about this book is the fact that this is the only one there is. The handset manufacture is even reconsidering taking Symbian off their handsets all together. These guys better get their act together.

I am not a computer programmer, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book (occasionally skimming). The first 50 pages, in particular, were an outstanding history of Psion & Epoc. A great read, reminding me of the documentary film Triumph of the Nerds (on the advent of the personal computer).

For the time being it's the ONLY book available for those who want to program for EPOC platform. It gives a lot of information on the subject covered.

Do I remember emerge magazine? Mr. Curry is trying to make a comeback as a digital on line edition. This book has many of the same articles that I could not possibly save as magazines. Thanks George for putting this master piece together and I will help support his next venture when emerge comes on line this year. If you have read this, you should also know, Mr, Curry needs our help to rekindle the spirit of emerge and great stories that accompanied the magazine.

I loved Emerge Magazine! Glad I got this compilation of old articles in one book!

This is a great book. As a long term subscriber to Emerge magazine I was extremely disappointed and angered when the magazine was shut down. This book has so many of the excellent articles that remember reading and I will be able to have this book as proof of what a quality magazine can be. I hope my grands and great grands will be able to access it for future reference.

Journalist/Editor George E. Curry has resurrected the magnificent, hard-hitting, journalistic stories that made the now defunct Emerge Magazine the premier feature news publication in the 1990s. In this 660 + page volume, we are graced with The Best of Emerge Magazine edited by Curry. It is a work of brilliance to combine these stories in one work to be read at the readers' convenience and pleasure. It is also a vital, historical document worthy of being filed with the Schomburg Institute.The exposes are prolific, provocative and well-written. Who can forget "Kemba's Nightmare," the young college student who got caught in a drug dealer's web? She was sentenced to thirty years in jail, where she gave birth to her son and tore at the heartstrings of countless African Americans, especially middle-class parents, who were reminded "There but for the grace of God, that could be my child." Reported in three parts over several years, Kemba was pardoned by President Clinton just before he left the White House in 2000. Ralph Wiley's insightful essay in 1989 about black athletic superiority is now a classic as is Lee A. Daniels' stunning article, "Targeting Black Boys for Failure." Jill Nelson's story "Amazing Grace" examines the plight of Deborah Lyons, wife of the dishonored president of the National Baptist Convention. Nelson expounds on the subservient role Sister Lyons and other women take in the wake of male religious leaders who continually humiliate and shame their loved ones."Driving While Black" and "Thinking While Black" are among other stimulating articles, as well as "Rape of a Spelman Coed" which made us look hard at the issue of acquaintance/date rape in the black community and our attitudes about it. Profiles of Dick Gregory, Johnnie Cochran, Farrakhan, Betty Shabazz, Elizabeth Catlett and Tom Joyner captured the essence of who's who in diverse black America. And did we not look forward to "Friend Fire", the witty column written by Lauren Adams Deleon, which looked at the stupid, crazy, bizarre, but true antics of our folk? There are a great many more great stories, but what remains with me to this day is the MasterCard moment of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, posed as a lawn jockey on the cover of one of the most controversial issues of the publication, and the accompanying article written by Curry himself. Priceless indeed.This reviewer is of the mind that such controversial issues as the Thomas piece, among others, led to the Emerge's demise, which is contentious in itself. It seems everybody does not agree with putting our dirty laundry out for all the world to view. Loquacious, innovative and groundbreaking, this is the meat of journalistic reporting. I was disappointed when the magazine ceased publication and have not found another quite to my satisfaction to replace it. I Was Really Caught Up Reading This Book,Because Before This Publication Folded A Few Years Ago, I Was A Subscriber For Many Years. Personally I Feel That This magazine Was One Of A Kind. There Were Many Stories That I Enjoyed Ready, Such As One That I Recall The Story About A College Student From Hampton University, Kimba Smith, That Was Involved With A Drug Dealer. She Ended Up Spending Time In A Federal Prison, But Was later Pardon By Bill Clinton. Thanks For "The Best Of Emerge" It May Be Gone, But Its NOT forgotten.
