I can honestly say this is one of my best purchases ever! I absolutely loved this series and actually having it in my hands is amazing. If you want the whole series in outstanding condition and for a great price, (you're basically only paying for almost 8 out of 18 volumes. That's means you're getting 10 for free!) you're looking in the right place. Also if you've only watched the anime you are missing out!

Okay, so I watched to anime of this series when I was in like 6th grade and I've been wanting this box set since then. So I bought this a day after I turned 14. I do not regret spending half of my birthday money on this at all! It's all fun and games like the show at first but then when you get to volume 13 it starts to get serious and it's so good. If you generally like romantic/comedy series that get serious towards the end then you'll love Ouran High School Host Club.The box set arrived at my house on time and the box that had all the books was in perfect shape(I live in the USA so that might be why)and the note pad that comes with it is adorable.Also it's 18 books for 80 dollars which means each book is around 4 dollars rather than paying 10 dollars for each book separately.10/10 would recommend

I absolutely love this series and was absolutely ecstatic when I found the entire box set! It was like a dream come true!The one thing I can say about this manga is that it's incredibly sweet. The plot that was created here is enough to make a big grin spread across your face. It's like no matter what happened to you before--whether you had a bad day or not--as soon as you open this manga, a big smile forms the moment you read. The characters themselves are so mischievous and funny that you'll find yourself reading this series over and over again because it's so uplifting! Of course--like ALL manga--it shares its moments of drama, but I believe MOST of you (keyword: MOST) will find the ending incredibly sweet! After all, there's no fun giving out spoilers! Just read and you'll know what I'm talking about! (#^.^#)Overall, a terrific collection to own! (◠‿ ◠)

The series: If you have only seen the anime series, then there is a lot more to discover in the manga world, as the anime only covers the first six or seven books. Ouran High School Host Club is one of those memorable shoujo series that you pick up year after year to read and re-read. The characters are amazingly adorable, from the Host Club members and our atypical protagonist, Haruhi, to classmates, and non-school related characters like Haruhi's eccentric papa. I devoured the first half of this series easily - it is rife with shoujo and school tropes, like love triangles, sports events, and group outings, but somehow Hatori made this series unique in just how *CRAZY* the plots can get and how lovable all of the characters are. Going back to Haruhi, I think she made this series superior to some of the other shoujo series out there because she was so different - a bit hard to read and not the traditional always-sweet or hot-headed-with-a-heart-of-gold female character, but sympathetic regardless.As for the latter half, I did not quite like it as much as the beginning, because as the characters engage in more difficult issues, you lose some of that lighthearted brevity, which is realistic, but not as fun as crazy shenanigans. Still, Hatori does a great job in developing her characters' maturity and engaging the readers fully in relevant school issues, like parent-child problems and the sadness of graduating and forever changing your relationships with your school friends. And even though Haruhi and Tamaki's romance is one of the center plots, Hatori maintains a strong connection to all of the Host Club characters and focuses on the Club as a whole.The box set: If you're looking to own the series and have five or fewer books, the box set is definitely the way to go. I received all 18 books in new condition, with three of them having those annoying small tears in the spine (that bug the heck out of me but are ultimately cosmetic) along with the cute, exclusive notepad. The set opens up at the top, secured by velcro on each side, and folds down to reveal a mini bookshelf with all 18 novels and the notepad. There is also a plastic handle at the top that you can use to carry the set. Overall, the cardboard housing seems pretty secure and can be helpful in freeing up shelf space.

Arrived in such pristine condition and while I did get a bit worried with how I was going to get out a volume without ruining the spine I somehow managed to get it out somehow and still maintain its pristine condition. Definitely a MUST READ and WATCH! I've loved Ouran since I first saw it around five years ago or so and still watch it to this day!

This box set arrived in perfect condition AND A WEEK EARLY!! I bought the 'Death Note' box Set with this one and I must say I am ecstatic with the condition and delivery rate. This is, by far my best experience with an Amazon order! I completely recomend this to any Ouran High fan out there! Definitely worth it!!

Wow, what a beautiful box set. It has a carrier handle and everything. We got this anime set for my daughter's birthday as her main gift and she was thrilled. So beautiful and vibrant. If you have a child that loves Anime then this is the series for you. It will be hard to beat the price anywhere else. The books were pristine and came quickly. My daughter absolutely loves this series and we could not have been happier with the company. The books are beautiful and a have a great story. The price may seem high but is average for Anime.

cute and entertaining manga series. i bought the set from Amazon's store and not from a third party seller. shipping was super fast and item was in perfect condition. all the volumes were there and it also came with a cute notepad for this set! the item is in new, unopened condition and the quality of the drawings is so good! they are really detailed so sometimes it can be a bit dense to read, but once you get used it, the manga is really cute. the box it comes in is so nice and i am keeping it to store the manga cuz it has a velcro button to close it. it is really handy to keep the manga safe and secure.

The best part for me is Part three of the book, it presents a realistic implementation of Battleship game using client server, it covers all the interesting aspects in a very clear and incremental manner.Chapter 18 is paricularly good, it starts from a very simple active object, explains how it works, then moves on to the pattern, also explains why he favors one approach over the other, the mistake he made etc. Part Three - Communications and Systems Programming Chapter 16 - Communications and Systems Programming Chapter 17 - The Transaction-oriented Games Stack Chapter 18 - Active Objects Chapter 19 - Client-server Framework Chapter 20 - The GSDP Server Chapter 21 - GDP Implementations Chapter 22 - Full Battleships

There are only a handful of Symbian books available yet, and this one is the best of them. It is not a tutorial but a fairly good reference. It does a good job of explaining concepts as well, for instance I really like the discussion of descriptors in chapter 5.Those who have no Symbian background will find this book difficult (not because the book is badly written, but because Symbian is a very different platform). I recommend that beginners read documentation and whitepapers available at Symbian's website, take an introductory class and then buy this book for reference. Dont try to learn Symbian programming from this book. You'll be disappointed.I also think that the authors should revisit and work on a new edition of this useful book. There has been an addition of many new topics since R5, that require good reference material - authors could do the Symbian community a favor by providing that much needed reference material.This book deserves 3.5 stars now - and if the authors release a new edition, it will get 5 stars from me.

First, I should state that I know the author. I better say that in case anyone believes my guilty of bias. However, it must be realised that this book is an official Symbian publication, and as such is the definitive reference book on programming for EPOC devices. Personally I think Martin has done a remarkable job putting all this together. As an ex-Symbian employee I have not done any coding since the early development days of the Psion Series 5.Recently I have needed to get up to date and get coding again. On a brand new PC, with no EPOC utilities on it, with the help of this book and its accompanying CD (which contains ALL of the official Symbian Software Development Kits), I had genuine freshly-compiled programs running on my Psion Series 5mx PDA within MINUTES. Martins writing style is very accessible, and explains the advanced concepts behind EPOC in a manner in which anyone can quickly understand them.As an aside, the book is deliberately written so that it does NOT have to be read sitting in front of a computer. As a result, this book makes a fantastic tutorial, as it can be read on the train, in the bath, anywhere when you might have a few minutes spare.A "must buy" for any individual or company considering programming in C++ any EPOC devices (which will in the near future include both PDA's and mobile phones). Well done Martin!

My company is working on software for the handset manufactures that are using the Symbian OS. We will now most likely miss our deadlines due to a very buggy OS and the worst documentation I have ever seen in 20 years of being in the industry. This book couldn't be more scatter-brained if they tried. There are some great bits and pieces here and there, but you have to find them. The worst part about this book is the fact that this is the only one there is. The handset manufacture is even reconsidering taking Symbian off their handsets all together. These guys better get their act together.

I am not a computer programmer, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book (occasionally skimming). The first 50 pages, in particular, were an outstanding history of Psion & Epoc. A great read, reminding me of the documentary film Triumph of the Nerds (on the advent of the personal computer).

For the time being it's the ONLY book available for those who want to program for EPOC platform. It gives a lot of information on the subject covered.
